Log of the Sloop RED WOLF
12/2/1932 On mooring in windward side of Resort Bay, South Island. Put my own mud hook out as insurance. Winds generally N-NW & moderate & weather still fair. Big dance contest ashore, with extra points for “most authentic costume”. One contestant was a pretty feline schoolteacher from somewhere in US Midwest. Doing a very energetic Bora Bora style Hula when the knot on her sarong slipped free. While her performance was cut far too short, I think she definitely should have taken the “most authentic costume” honors. Wonder if I should consider a ship’s cat for Red Wolf someday?
